In spring 1918, he became one of the founders of the Kultur Lige’s Arts Section - the unit aimed at the development of the modern Jewish culture in Yiddish in the Ukraine.
Ryback taught drawing and painting at the Jewish Children's Studio in Kiev; designed several stamps; he prepared the sketches of the stage sets and the design for stage construction for the first performance of the Kultur Lige.
In spring 1920, Ryback was one of the organizers and participants of the exhibition held by the Kultur Lige Arts Section in Kiev.
